Try Kids Academy with 3-day FREE TRIAL! 🤍 Your Community | Types of Community | Kids Academy Your Community | Types of Community | Kids Academy Does your kid know about the community? Do you know how to explain it to them? Well, don’t worry this tutorial will help you explain the concept of community to your kid in simple and easy words. What is a community? A community is a place where people live together. They interact with each other and live by knowing each other. It is very important for the kid to understand the importance of living in a community and what is the actual meaning of living in a community. Types of communities There are many different types of communities. In this lesson, we will cover the three most common types. 1. Urban 2. Suburban 3. Rural Urban community An urban community is large and highly populated. This means that a big number of people live there. Tall buildings, skyscrapers, heavy traffic, and transportation are key identification of an urban community. For example, New York City is an urban community. In urban communities, you will find everyone busy with their tasks, with heavy traffic and a lot of hustle and bustle. That is why New York is called the city that never sleeps. It remains busy all day and all night. Most people living in apartment buildings while very few live in homes. You will see a lot of apartments and homes packed with each other due to the high population. Suburban community A suburban community is located near a city but not as populated as an urban community. There are less traffic and smaller buildings. Some people travel to the nearby urban for work, which is called commuting. Many people live in homes which are very beautifully made. They have amenities such as large backyards and garages. Rural community A rural community has very few people and buildings. It mainly consists of farmland. There is more nature in the rural community, you will see animals, trees, grassy lands, and pure water. people live in small houses that are spaced far apart even miles away. It has a very peaceful environment with no honking and people rushing and heavy traffic. So, this was a small lesson on communities. In which community would you like to live? I took a drive through some of the forgotten areas in and around Beckley/Raleigh, West Virginia to see how bad things really are. Raleigh is 1.5 miles south east of downtown Beckley and is an unincorporated coal town. The Raleigh Coal and Coke Company was the primary mining company in this area. After the decline of the coal industry this town all but folded up and is what you see today, a grim reminder of the past. As I check out some other parts of Beckley, there's a fair bit of dilapidation and rough areas. Crime is almost twice the national average, and continuing to get worse each year. Good paying jobs are hard to come by, its no surprise the population has been on decline. Not all is bad though, I think there are many decent areas and its certainly building up compared to years ago, so there's hope it'll turn around for the better. Let's take a drive and check it out!

Almost 25% of all Americans live more than an hour away from a trauma center by helicopter. A new study may help emergency crews make critical transport decisions.
The latest census report finds that 60 million Americans live in rural areas. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that they tend to be older, sicker and poorer than the average American. On a recent cold Sunday morning, 13 college students arrived here for an unusual Spring Break: a weeklong date to get to know one of the countless rural towns struggling to attract teachers. The trip was part of a feeder program, of sorts, created at Montana State University to address the state's education crisis: Nearly half of all Montana schools now employ teachers who aren’t certified, and almost all of those schools are in rural areas. “Even 10 years ago, they were still pulling in people, getting applications, being more selective about who we can hire,” said Dr. Tena Versland, a professor at Montana State University who helped found the program two years ago. “Now it’s 'Just find someone.'” The root of the problem is a decades-long inability to hold onto young people, who've been leaving small towns for bigger cities and never coming back. The shift is especially pronounced in the Midwest, where 85% of rural counties are shrinking. Shelby, a town with about 700 families, one K-12 school, and a small main street that runs only a few blocks, has tried everything to fill the vacancies that pop up almost every year, with little success. So they weren’t about to let this opportunity of courting 13 aspiring teachers go to waste. VICE News Tonight was there for the entire week, watching the town roll out the red carpet for the college students. But recent census data indicates that this “brain drain” phenomenon is subsiding as both millennials and more Americans of all ages are increasingly choosing to live in suburbs and smaller cities. #Chinainsights Recently, talk about rural affairs has been a hot topic in the Chinese media. There are three key elements to this discussion. They are " retiring forests and restoring farmland", retiring 80 million migrant rural workers, and constructing "a comprehensive rural administrative and law enforcement team," or "Nongguan" for short Another problem that cannot be ignored is that as long as CCP officials have power, it means they can be corrupt and use it as a cash grab. What kind of chaos and turmoil will happen in rural China under the management of such a large administrative army? It can be said that when the peasants are fooled around like this, the Communist Party's Red Dynasty is in its last days. Have questions? Do you have something to share with us about China? For a long time, there's been a stereotype that's portrayed electric vehicles as crippled woke vehicles only wealthy urbanites can afford to drive (or indeed can actually make use of because of very limited range). Thousands of parents and educators are turning to the kids’ learning app that makes real learning truly fun. Try Kids Academy with 3-day FREE TRIAL! 🤍 Towns and Cities - Learn the Difference | Social Studies for Preschool & Kindergarten | Kids Academy Let’s learn about the difference between towns and cities. It is a very basic concept that needs to be given to kids and the kids must understand the concept very clearly otherwise they will just remain confused for a very long time in their life about the difference between town and city. So, to avoid this let’s make a simple tutorial to help you make this learning easier for the kid. Town A town is a place where people live. It is smaller than a city. There are not a lot of people in town and the buildings are relatively less and smaller. It is not as busy as a city and there is lesser traffic in a town. In a town, you will find small houses surrounded by grassy fields or farms giving a very peaceful look. Things that you might see around a town include farms, cottages, less traffic on narrow roads. Towns are located outside the city area where there is a lesser population and the houses are made beautifully with greenery around them. City A city is bigger and a busier area. People live in small apartments buildings and very few people live in houses. It has very high traffic and you will hardly see any farms around. The population of a city is higher than in a town. Many people travel from nearby towns to cities for work. Cities remain busy all day and all night, for example, New York is called the city that never sleeps as it is always busy either it is day or night. You might not find a city as peaceful as a town.
